I give you: Acadia National Park

Well, I take it everyone has had enough of the bread then. Glad you all enjoyed it. Trust me, we did absolutely nothing but stare at the bread for the last month and half too, so you didn't miss much.

Let's start from the top: ACADIA NATIONAL PARK! weekend with Wynn, James, and Acadia-the-baby.

We all stayed at this awesome little cottage outside of Bar Harbor ("baah-haaaabah"), thanks again Wynn and James! These are pretty common in the northeast apparently - ours was awesome - two bedrooms, a kitchen and front area, and a screened porch so that James and Mark could get away from watching Lifetime movies with Wynn and Libby.

We arrived late morning on Saturday the 28th. It was pretty foggy and overcast, and this was the status quo for Saturday and Sunday as well. Sunday night, though, we drove up the mountain and finally caught a glimpse of all that we were missing. James and Mark were quick to chase down their cameras and take a few pictures.

We found some pretty excellent alternatives during the first two days. Here are a few pictures from one of the beaches we went to on Saturday:

Actually this must have been on Sunday. On Saturday night we plopped on the couch and watched like 20 minutes of the national high school cheerleading competition. We're going to compete next year.

Acadia was a pretty happy baby, despite being thrown off her sleep schedule.
Libby found this prehistoric fossil on the beach. It's the spinal cord of what looks to be a small dinosaur.

The hikes were excellent - nice quick ascents and pretty tame descents. We had alot of exposure on this shot.

Acadia came down with a strange tongue disease. It was weird.
And that pretty much wraps up part one of two on Acadia National Park. More to come!

finallyy! That was a trip that had to be remembered - now immortalized on the blog. I like Wynns nostril flare in that one pic, I wish I could remember what was so funny. Either way good company, ADOOORRABLE, happy baby and the best memorial day ever.

I love Bar Harbor, you guys deserve a fun weekend! You guys got some amazing shots. I have to admit my favorite part of this post was being able to see these cute photos of (baby) Acadia. Wow, what a cutie and she's grown up so much! I love her knit booties. Great post guys! Can't wait to see the sequel! Your amazing photography skills Mark will benefit you guys your entire lives - I'm so glad you got that precious time to refine your craft! It truly is a craft you have. I'm going to be sad to see your metal trees project come to an end. Maybe you can start a sequel - 'sterile trees'! Photos via hospital, okay maybe not. Lame joke.

Gotta love Acadia! (Say what?) That is so cool that you found dinosaur remains; I would have been happy to see a 10 year old whale! The cottage looks so cozy--great choice! And, while there were many great shots, the picture of the tongue issue was the best! Glad you could get away. Will look forward to seeing you this summer (and that new cheerleading routine you're working on!). Love, Dad

Ahhh, finally, I loved the bread but ACADIA, oh and the park too were fantastic. I too loved the booties... bring back the old. And the tongue pic and the pic of the girls laughing so hard. Typical..typically wonderful. Thanks for the beautiful pix and a glimpse into a lovely weekend. Miss you!
