So Mark and I love to throw parties.
It's something that's just kind of happened over the last three years, this love of party throwing. Anyhow, we threw a Christmas Party for some of our friends on Saturday.
Here is the invite:
We spent all day Friday and Saturday cooking and decorating and rearranging our house - it looked awesome, if we do say so ourselves. I think my favorite detail was the place holder name tags we made...and the dvd of the old "Grinch that Stole Christmas" cartoon. I believe Marks favorite detail was the trees we made out of old magazine and the *snow globes. Guess which snow globe was Mark's mastermind (hint, I did the gnome).
We made a lot of food - dinner for 8 people. I can't imagine having a family that big and cooking that much food every night, it was exhausting. The menu consisted of: mini herbed veggie pot pies, fresh rolls, a creamy raspberry jello salad (not normally a jello person but this is a Cannon family tradition, delish), toasted sesame kale salad, brown sugar dill carrots and lots of drinks.
Mark did a great job documenting the night. It was so good to be surrounded by friends - we've been blessed to know wonderful people wherever we have been. The evening was a total success, we had so much fun with everyone...we can't wait to do it again.

Looks like so much fun! You guys do know how to throw a party! We wish we could have been there.. and we wish you guys could have been at our friend Christmas! Can't wait to see you in a few weeks! Miss you guys!
So fun! That was quite a spread!! I am impressed!
I'm a huge fan of the snowglobes! So creative! I am very impressed with your menu selection. Sounds delish!!!
We wish we couldve crashed the party! Miss you two!
I am pretty sure that if you were feeding 8 every day that your menu would be much, much simpler! But the food sounded great--and the picture of the carrots made me hungry. Glad you were able to do this--great way to get to know others...and enjoy life. Hope your burn-out husband helped you clean up afterward! Dad M
Thanks for your vote of confidence dad! I was busy taking that beautiful picture of the glowing tree actually :) Libby threw an incredible party, a total hit! I just got to ride on the wave she created - it was fun. Oh, and the amazing goblin snow globe was my idea, thank you very much.
Wishing all these people who wanted to crash our party would stop making excuses and start crashing parties! :)

Favorite M + L post to date! Love what you have done with the blog. Just looking at the photos and being on your blog has totally put me into the christmas spirit. I am in love with your tree. Good work Libby, you are an amazing woman! I agree with Petes, those carrots look delish and make me hungry.
I love your decorations and place settings. Your apartment looks so rad. You guys are so great and taking the initiative to put great events together. Memories like that make life so sweet. Love you both so much.
