As all of you know, Libby is working on an accelerated nursing degree at NYU. I'll let her give you the details on how this program is going, but thought it was about time for an update.
Basically, she is doing awesome!! She is finishing her second semester right now - it's a summer semester, only 10 weeks long, and she is taking 12 credits, which is nuts! She is taking Pharmacology, Adult, and Maternity, and has clinicals for those classes as well. It's been a really busy semester for her, with a really bad teacher adding to the craziness. That said, she's handled it really well and is on the home stretch!
She has finals coming up in a few days and is super excited to finish and have all of August to relax! She deserves it. One of her great qualities is the ability to just jump in to things and do them. Call it faith, confidence, whatever - it's definitely a gift! I've been super impressed watching her the last six months as she has just taken so much on with so much composure.
Good luck in finals baby!!
Libby's response to this post:
Finally a new post! Way to go love...can you tell we've been busy? Mark - so brave - let me practice putting in my first IV. He didn't even flinch, and no it's not because I was that good. I finally got the darned thing in on the 5th try. haha. That said I asked Mark to rate is pain on a scale of 0-10, 10 being the worst pain he's ever felt. His response:
Mark: a 3
Libby: Mark you don't do me any good lying to make me feel better, what was it really.
Mark: No, really it was a 3. It wasn't so much the pain as the nausea.
I have to admit that last comment really made me laugh. Yes, when we got that needle in Mark looked a little pale and sweaty. I made him lay down with his feet up and drink some water and eat some berries.
He was such a good sport. After I poked him a couple times I gave up. But a few minutes later he yelled out to me, "come over here and stick me"! He truly is amazing...he has taken such good care of me this semester - cooking, cleaning, moving the car (we have to move it every 2-3 days for the sweepers or we get a ticket), laundry, general cheerfulness and sweetness. What would I do without that boy?

Haha, this post made me laugh. Way to go Lib! Seriously though, I would be stressing if I had to get poked 5 times. Good thing you're married to Mark. That being said, Clayton said I'm next...yikes!
Good luck on your finals!
